Constructing Futures

Constructing Futures Part 1:
Will the Construction Industry return to normal post Covid-19?

According to a recent survey conducted by Building Magazine, 80% of construction firms do not have a plan in place on how to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic, 62% recipients said they were finding it difficult to source materials and only 55% indicated that they are confident that work will restart as soon as they are allowed to. The construction industry is already governed by tight margins and low productivity rates; therefore, will this pandemic see margins shrink even further and, or will it accelerate growth for offsite construction?

On Wednesday 10th June at 10.00am, The University Campus St Albans (UCSA), a joint venture between The University of Hertfordshire and Oaklands College, are hosting a LIVE conversation with key speakers from Morgan Sindall and Willmott Dixon to discuss and share views on the impact Covid-19 has and will have on the construction industry.

Does Covid-19 create an opportunity for construction industry? And if so, how can we ensure we are constructing the right future. Join us in the debate.
